My 3rd game for Livi would see me playing a 3rd position in as many games. I would now be playing as a holding Midfielder, a fat Scott McTominay if you will lol. Could it be 3rd time lucky and see us grab a first victory with me in the side?
El Scorchio of a day had me thinking we should go direct to a penalty shootout to decide the game early, giving us time for a BBQ and some beers. Not to be, so I had to slap on the kids factor 50 to protecting my balding head.
It would be my first game in the black shirts, with Edinburgh Giants also playing in white. (A mad scramble to get them, when both teams turned up to the game with the white kits lol)
I remember following the defeat to East Fife, telling myself that I would take the set pieces. As I approached a FK early on, Franny said Paul takes it and well... so he should, found space bottom right and slotted it home for 1-0.
The second goal would come from my first ever corner for the club, floated in across six yard box and headed home by Steve Charleston. Buzzing for the big guy who grabs his first goal for Livi at 11s.
Would be quite the game for Paul who scored again to make it 3-0, he then set me up to score which I put away before it was ruled offside 😞
After going in 3-0 at the half, a combination of changes made by Livi and Edinburgh stepping it up, seen them pull a goal back 10 minutes into the second half. Rab Tervit would make it 4-2, before I put a ball through over the top for Skippy who latched on to it and finished into the bottom left. Giants would then pull another back through Matt Campbell.
Both teams could have had more goals in a really good game, would be great to play them again soon, this time at the Oriam.
