Game 155, the wee mans first ever away day for Hibs women and his first ever trip to Paradise. The weather was class, sunny, hot and clear blues sky. This would be our third time seeing the Hibees in a week, all excited to see them play at Celtic Park infront of a decent size crowd.
We contacted the venue the day before to see about accessibility for Mason and they could not have been better. Called me back and had it all arranged, just had to pick up tickets from the Box office on the day. When we got to turnstiles, a member of staff took over taking us to the accessibility area where we were greated by more staff who showed us around and helped us get sorted. Amazing experience with all the staff who would come up and chat with us and Mason, forgiving him for being in a full Hibs kit lol.
While up there we met Fee and her wife, chatting with us all second half, explaining to Mason the friendship between the two clubs, he loved it as did we, hopefully see them again in the future.
THE GROUND
I grew up coming to this stadium back when it had the temporary stand, a friends dad having a season ticket he never used, so I was able to attend games. Love it, great set up, the Celtic way adds to it, the Superstore and the Emirates Arena all make it look very nice indeed. Easy to get to, we headed to Bellgrove and just walked from there.
THE PREDICTION
Obviously we knew this was going to be tough, the last time out for us was a 1-1 draw at the Tony Macaroni in the dying moments. Celtic ever improving would either have an extra bounce in their step with the crowd, or be nervous and out of sorts. We knew Hibs would be tired, but had an advantage of being used to big crowds. Due to these factors we went for a 2-2 draw!
DOWN TO THE ACTION!
Celtic take the lead just 1 minute in with a goal from Clarissa Larisey, this took away any chance of nerves setting in and got the team off to a flyer.
25' Olivia Chance puts the home team 2 ahead
52' Like a salmon Jodie Bartle rises to meet a corner and head it home for 3-0
84' Chloe Warrington grabs her first ever Celtic goal infront of thousands of home fans at Celtic Park!
Celtic were just clinical and understandably Hibs looked tired, I would put this result down to a solid Celtic performance more than anything, with the fans giving them an extra boost.
IN CLOSING
Not a great result for Hibs, but given the tough week these things can happen. Was cool seeing some of the Green Brigade bring the noise and a decent turout of Celtic fans.
EXTRAS
Mason loves his photos with the players and chatting, he gets so hyper when he meets them. We were worried given the result that we should maybe just leave it, as the players probably wouldn't be in the mood for fan interaction.
We waited standing back slightly so if players wanted to avoid us they could. We cannot credit the Hibs team enough, everyone came up and spoke to him, took photos and gave him their time. Cannot stress how happy you make this little boy, he even managed to somehow get Micky McAlonies Banana (No free shirt signs from us lol) and after a few attempts where he legged it towards the bus Ellis Notley invited him on, which was an amazing experience for him. (turning Sam into a football fan too)
Win, Lose or Draw this wee fella loves the Hibees 💚💚💚
